Jack Tolman, Station Manager, has over 20 years experience in the video production industry. In addition to his part-time position as NPA-TV's Station Manager, he has been the Director of TV/Video Services for the Norwood School Department for the last 18 years. This combination is a perfect fit that allows for the continued success of the NPA-TV/School Department relationship. Under Jack's guidance many Norwood High School TV students and returning college students have become part-time employees for NPA-TV which has enabled them to gain valuable real world experience. He is also proud that NPA-TV's employees Karen Murphy and Meghan Staffiere are graduates of the Norwood High School TV program. Jack was NPA-TV's first hire in 2004 and has built up a station and staff that prides itself on quality programming for the town of Norwood. He has worked to improve and update all the NPA-TV video facilities. Under his guidance, NPA-TV has completed upgrades of the television control room, broadcast playback racks and the broadcast equipment located in the school committee meeting room. Jack worked closely with vendors for a yearlong build out of the NPA-TV Mobile Broadcast Unit, a truck that he feels is the best overall public access vehicle in New England. Jack has produced several Norwood Biography documentaries for broadcast including "The Richie Hebner Story", a program that profiled Norwood's own former major league baseball player. Recently he was profiled in The Boston Globe for completing a documentary on WWII pilot Colonel George T. Lee. Jack discovered long lost gun camera films, contacted family and friends and told the story of a true Norwood hero. Jack is a graduate of Norwood High School, Dean Junior College and Loyola University of New Orleans. He has worked for Cramer Productions, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics. Contact Jack at 781-551-0338 or jack@npatv.org |

Karen Feeney Murphy, Station Coordinator, was brought on board at NPA-TV in March of 2005. In addition to producing NPA's flagship show Norwood Digest, Karen has created and produces the popular restaurant show A Taste of Norwood. She is also responsible for bringing the new Norwood Tradition A Live Chat with Santa to Norwood Public Access TV. In her tenure at NPA, she has produced many programs, including numerous episodes of Let's Talk Business and others such as World War II Bombers at Norwood Airport and Norwood Day Highlights. She upgraded the live coverage of local election results with new graphics and added a new level of quality to NPA's coverage. She recently finished working on a year-long documentary celebrating NPA's 5 years in business entitled Norwood Public Access TV: A Profile. Karen has directed much of the coverage of local events, parades and government meetings and is proud to have raised the bar on the quality of programming NPA-TV provides to the Town of Norwood. A Norwood resident and NHS grad of '95, NPA-TV's senior full-time employee brings over ten years of broadcast and production experience to her position at the public access station. With her degree in Television, Film and Radio Production from Syracuse University's acclaimed Newhouse School, Karen worked at Boston's only Irish Cable Channel, Celtic Vision before moving on to Cramer Productions. After spending several years in Florida, working at a national events company, Karen came back to Norwood to raise her family in her hometown and is thrilled to be working for NPA-TV. Ryan Walker, Sports Coordinator, brings several years of broadcast and production experience to NPA-TV. Ryan was hired in March of 2007 and has been involved in all aspects of NPA-TV's operations. He has produced government meetings, monthly programs, election coverage, and more. He is also responsible for the care and maintenance of NPA-TV's growing inventory of video equipment. As Sports Coordinator his responsibilities include coordinating the production of youth and school sports. Ryan has creatively used the equipment installed in the mobile broadcast truck, and his sports productions continue to receive compliments from coaches, players, and parents. Some of these programs were covered for the first time in Norwood cable history including golf, cross country, swimming, softball and girls hockey. Several sporting events have been broadcast LIVE for the first time including Little League Opening Day and Little League Town Championship games. The 2008 Norwood/Dedham Thanksgiving Day game was a special day for NPA Sports. Ryan produced the first ever LIVE broadcast of a school sport, incorporating 5 cameras, instant replay, a roving sideline reporter, creative graphics with headshots and updated stats, and even mic'd up the referee for the coin toss. Ryan also completed a documentary entitled Cleveland Field Makeover. This program follows the renovation of a baseball/softball field, from start to finish. The video ended with a 'Move That Bus!' reveal with cooperation from the Cleveland School, Norwood Police Dept., and local bus company Sansones. Ryan is looking forward to expanding NPA's coverage of local sports, while focusing on the next broadcast being better than the last. Before being hired full-time in March of 2007, Ryan was a freelance producer for NPA, worked in the audio/video control room with the Brockton Rox, and worked with many local bands assisting them with live performances and recording sessions.
